Packing & Dispatch Team Member

3 or 4 days a week 

Across Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

We are a National Living Wage employer - £12 per hour 

Based at our HQ in Kendal, Cumbria

No weekends

The Northern Pasta Co team is growing! We’re excited to share that we’re looking for a pasta lover to join our team. 

The right candidate will be efficient, keen to learn and have meticulous attention to detail, we work closely each day, so we are looking for a hardworking, adaptable person with a good sense of humour.

This role would be perfect for someone who enjoys being task-oriented, working with their hands and being organised.

We’ve experienced rapid growth over the last twelve months, and are now looking for someone to support us in preparing our customer and wholesale orders for dispatch. 

You’ll be responsible for packing and sending out our orders to our loyal customers, as well as to our wholesale partners, these are important relationships which we have built and your role plays a critical part in nurturing them. 

Each step of our pasta making process has been conducted with precision and care, we simply don’t compromise when it comes to quality. 

Our workplace is fast-paced, tasks are precise and often repetitive as well as physically demanding. The right individual will need to be flexible, with a proactive approach and positive outlook. 

Our pasta is made using regeneratively grown spelt, we love sharing our knowledge with our consumers, supporting British farmers and making a product which is delicious and makes you feel good. 

We’d love for someone to join our team who will share our passion for building our brand. 

Tasks:

  • Packing pasta into bags 
  • Packing retail orders with the potential to manage and monitor all web orders
  • Packing wholesale orders ready for dispatch to various customers
  • Maintaining high hygiene levels and keeping a tidy workspace 
  • Maintaining records and logs
  • Conducting quality checks to ensure that our standards are met
  • Helping us work towards our various accreditations (B-corp, Salsa, Solar)
  • Flagging any issues with the equipment within your area
  • Stock management
  • Be comfortable being in a sometimes loud environment

You may be someone looking for a change in career, at the start, middle or end of your career, we’re open to hearing from everyone. 

To carry out your role, we will provide food safety, hygiene and quality training and any other training required, it helps us but also benefits you. 

Previous experience working in a factory or warehouse environment , as well as customer service would be useful, but not essential.

We’re a small team, and we value clear communication, no question is a bad question.

Some days, we are extremely busy, so you’ll need to be able to be fast-paced. 

A willingness to develop your skillset as a valued member of our team.

Ability to carry and move around boxes in our warehouse. 

Other information:

4 days/week: Tuesday-Friday.

Holiday - 4 day/week = 23 days holiday to include Bank Holidays.

Tea and coffee.

One bag of pasta per week.

Quarterly check ins.

Christmas closure - we close for 2 weeks over the Christmas period. You can opt to take the full 8 days as part of your holiday.

You’ll need a car to reach us.
